What's
between ROC and ROC SA:
ROC SA has
our Diamond differential amp circuitry. Diamond differential amp had
been applied for many years in our gears, like our new DAC Reference
8/9, SA-300 power amp, and SA-3000 preamp. Sound signature is musical
and detailed, with a little coloration and a little on the warm side,
and will be forgiving of poor recordings. It can allow the sound to be
a bit richer and better.
ROC
sound as "A wire
with gain".
Usually, in our products, if I use ACSS technology, I
will design the sound signature as neutral.
Neutral in my mind, is neutral and faithful-like, Roc doesn't have any particular character, like our other ACSS
products, its sound depends on the source, Roc reveals to you the
merits or shortcomings of your source. It only drives the headphone,
without coloration. I think, use of the word "neutral and faithful"
will be better than the use of "neutral".
About
ACSS:
ACSS (Audio-gd Current
Signal System) is Audio-gd's system for transmitting audio signals in
the current domain. This concept, first seen in 1966, we have used for
many years, and since 2006, have evolved the technology to include all
audio signals in our systems from the digital source to the power
amplifier. Since 2007, ACSS components have become Audio-gd's most
popular products, with a great many customers purchasing them in China
and Hong Kong.
Applies
all audiophile grade components, including DALE resistors, WIMA &
EVOX caps (German brand), custom order NOVER (UK brand) caps, all
audiophile grade input & output sockets.

The input/output of Roc:
Roc
has ample inputs and outputs, and includes one RCA inputs, one XLR
inputs, and one ACSS input.
When fed with an RCA signal, Roc can
change the RCA signal to an exact XLR signal at first, then change to a
current signal to feed to ACSS modules. Roc has gain balance control between RCA
and XLR, so output level of RCA input is the same as XLR input.
When fed with an XLR signal, Roc can
re-proofread the XLR to make a complete mirror (exact) XLR signal, then
change to current signal to feed to ACSS modules. In cases where the
source output XLR signal is not exact, (Hot signal level not same with
cool signal level's absolute value) through this re-proofread process,
it can correct the signal to produce an exact XLR signal.
In short, whatever the input might be,
Roc will output XLR signal to Headphones, unless your headphone is
plugged into the single-ended output sockets.
Roc has
one 4 pins xlr, one set of 3 pins xlr, and one SE socket as output.
What is Roc:
1, Roc is base on Phoenix's
design, it is a true balanced design, signal circuits and chassis box
style the same as Phoenix.
2, Roc applies 4 floors ALPS volume pots, and applies class A PSU.
3, Roc has gain balance control between RCA and XLR, so between RCA
input and XLR input, there is the same output level .

Characteristics:
A true fully balanced headphone amp with
preamp function.
Adopting the Current Audio Signal
Transmission (ACSS) technology in audio circuits, so Roc sounds as "a
wire with gain".
Power supply is a class A parallel voltage
regulator design.
The 4 floors ALPS volume pots can
continuously adjust volume level.
Design
Features:
The Roc applies ACSS (Current Audio Signal Transmission) technology.
The heart of our ACSS technology is in the ultra low distortion
BPM-7110 V2 module. The sound of Roc is neutral and faithful-like, very
neutral and sounds exceptionally clear and transparent. Soundstage is
precise, three dimensional and huge, detailed and lifelike midrange,
and transparent treble with tight and extended bass.
Roc has 3 pairs of inputs:
one set of ACSS current mode input, one balanced XLRs input and one
single-ended RCAs input. If the input signals are coming from XLRs and
RCAs, they are internally converted into current signals and then
amplified. To use the Roc as a preamplifier, there are 2 pairs of
outputs, one XLR and one RCA for your power amp connections.
To achieve a perfect
performance, Roc also applies the complex parallel-stabilized voltage
supply to get a purer power supply so that a better sound quality is
guaranteed. Roc applies a 80W R coil.
Roc uses a heavyweight all
aluminum alloy chassis to prevent the eddy current of the transformer
from interfering with the circuit board. Roc net-weight of 8KG.
All the sockets of Roc use Hi-End
grade products. Everything that we have done has been for better audio
and sensational effect.

About volume in ACSS circuits:
Roc use ACSS technology, which is very different
from conventional technology.
In conventional technology the gain is fixed, like 3DB or 6DB.
But in ACSS
technology the gain changes with volume, and while you turn off the
volume, the gain is -80DB or -100DB (in conventional technology it
can't work lower than 0DB).
While you are listening in normal
volume, the gain may be around -50DB, or between -80 to +12DB.
The volume control is also
different from conventional technology. Conventional technology volume
control is placed at the input, and attenuates the signal.
But in ACSS, it is placed at the
ACSS modules output, where the output is the current signal, not the
voltage signal. The volume control is I/V conversion, and the volume
depends on the current (I) conversion to the voltage (V). (Like D/A
chips output I/V conversion)
As you can see, ACSS circuits have no
gain, as it is a completely different circuit.
The sound quality benefits from I/V
conversion volume control. Mark Levinson also knows that current
volume control has great benefits, so in their Top End preamp NO.32
volume control, they use many components to change the signal to
current signal (I), then through the R-2R network to control the
volume, and then change back to voltage signal (V) again. But Roc
is simply a more complete work in terms of the current signal, and
technically, it is superior to conventional technology.
ACSS is fully non-feedback with very low
distortion, so sound is neutral (neutral and faithful) because it has
no feedback effect.
